What clients say about our performance
Before I found A Fighting Chance of Illinois, I felt lost. Re-entering society after incarceration was overwhelming—I had no stability, no job prospects, and nowhere to turn. AFCI didn’t just give me resources; they gave me hope. Through their re-entry program, I gained job training, counseling, and a safe place to rebuild my life. Today I’m employed, reunited with my family, and finally moving forward. AFCI truly gave me a second chance.
I was facing homelessness after leaving an unsafe situation, and AFCI stepped in when I needed help the most. Their supportive housing program gave me more than a roof over my head—they gave me community, structure, and encouragement. The staff treated me with dignity and helped me access food assistance, transportation, and employment services. Thanks to them, I’m stable, secure, and planning for a future I never thought I’d have.
My son struggled after his release, and as a parent I felt helpless. A Fighting Chance of Illinois helped our whole family heal. Their programs gave him guidance, accountability, and real opportunity, while also supporting us with family counseling and resources. Seeing him gain confidence and rebuild his life has been a blessing. AFCI doesn’t just change lives—they change families and communities for the better.
